Macromedia Fireworks/Dreamweaver alternatives anyone?
Howsit going, hope you guys are enjoying your weekend
Macomedia Fireworks: This program was very very elite, as a graphics editor it was pretty standard... and I'm sure that linux has many many graphics editors which ar just as good, however I need one which can: 1) Export a PNG document with slices and links into HTML.... 2) Create slices and links Macromedia Dreamweaver: Now again, this program was elite under windows, and aparently it works very well under linux too.. however I'm not going to run it under linux unless I can run Fireworks under linux too! At the moment I'm using Bluefish as my preferred editor, and it is very very good! don't get me wrong, however it's missing a few features: 1) Preview an HTML document without mozilla 2) a GUI for editing a webpage Mozilla Composer is LAME! with an emphisis on lame! It is missing any type of form input! which I use dayly! Thanks guys! |
I don't think there is a Dreamwaver equivallent the only way to use them is by installing them with Wine
|
"Quanta" for web dev
"gimp" for images those are the most known, tho since i don't really use them both maye there are some others out there gl :) |
You can run both those programs under codeweavers's crossover office plugin. The problem is that the demo version only works for 30 days then you have to buy it.

u dont need crossover to get dreamweaver to work. it works very well with latest wine...
i use dreamweaver every day under linux. fireworks doesnt work with crossover and it doesnt work with wine either!!! its not supported at the moment. give a chance to gimp though i doubt it'll do what u wanna do... |
ok thanks
