Macromedia Fireworks/Dreamweaver alternatives anyone?

Howsit going, hope you guys are enjoying your weekend

Macomedia Fireworks:

This program was very very elite, as a graphics editor it was pretty standard... and I'm sure that linux has many many graphics editors which ar just as good, however I need one which can:

1) Export a PNG document with slices and links into HTML....
2) Create slices and links

Macromedia Dreamweaver:

Now again, this program was elite under windows, and aparently it works very well under linux too.. however I'm not going to run it under linux unless I can run Fireworks under linux too!

At the moment I'm using Bluefish as my preferred editor, and it is very very good! don't get me wrong, however it's missing a few features:

1) Preview an HTML document without mozilla
2) a GUI for editing a webpage

Mozilla Composer is LAME! with an emphisis on lame!

It is missing any type of form input! which I use dayly!

Thanks guys!

I don't think there is a Dreamwaver equivallent the only way to use them is by installing them with Wine

"Quanta" for web dev
"gimp" for images

those are the most known, tho since i don't really use them both maye there are some others out there

You can run both those programs under codeweavers's crossover office plugin. The problem is that the demo version only works for 30 days then you have to buy it.

u dont need crossover to get dreamweaver to work. it works very well with latest wine...
i use dreamweaver every day under linux.
fireworks doesnt work with crossover and it doesnt work with wine either!!! its not supported at the moment.

give a chance to gimp though i doubt it'll do what u wanna do...
