Mac OS X guest on Linux ppc64 Host -- Virtualization/Emulation Solutions?
I'm trying to get a Mac OS X guest running under a Gentoo Linux ppc64 (Powermac G5 ppc970fx) host. I cannot seem to find a virtualization or emulation software that does this. Or at least, I cannot find any information on how to use them to do this, or that even says that they can do this.
What would you all recommend for this? I have tried qemu, and ran into several errors, and was told by people in #qemu that ppc64 is not supported, and that it probably won't work. Any ideas on what I could use to run OSX inside of a Linux ppc64 host? Thanks, Jesse Taylor |
This message is written from a Mac, "me" takes all responsibilities for newbiness in the Linux world. But there are some well known facts to remember.
In terms of emulation, you will hardy find anything of a newer date. It is widely known to emulate software of historical Mac OS versions, but after the X nothing is certain. An option would be to use Hackintosh distributions of OS X and install them into a virtual computer (VirtualBox). Did you try that out yet? Regards, BIG_Yack |
