Hi there!

How do I put an image into a figure-section in the actual version of lyx?

Just found a very old tutorial and it doesn't work like it's done there...

I tried:

Insert->Floats->Figure

typed some desc. and then:

Insert->Graphics

selected an .eps and set the size.

Didn't work for me. ...

if I put there image right before or after the float both appear... but unrealted to each other...

Same with tables...

I have had the same problem but suggest try changing the image file from an .eps to one of the others

I put plenty of images and color pictures in my books
simply by inserting GGraphic.

One of the things that might make your image not want to gggo in is the size settings.

If you need a picture with a title or comment attached to it you can do so without using a float. Simply insert graphic
then get your cursor to be on right side of image and select LEGEND as the type in the box at the top (where you select standard or chapter etc.
Now move cursor to left of image
enter carriage return
cursor goes to next line
select LEGEND again
and cursor jumps to middle of page now as you type you will have a nicely centered legend attached to your pic.

This works like this in MEMOIR class i do not know about others.
