well... it's fast for one thing. and very functional. and reminds me of the time when i was in the uni... and computers were just one of the strange denizens that inhabited the walls of the instituion.
i suppose it's also got to do with the fact that i don't really appreciate konqueror
and mozilla doesn't do it for me. that leaves opera, but i like using gpled stuff.

just a personal opinion.

Yeah, sometimes. But I found that (when I at home anyway) using it on forum sites rules. Especially sites that have images enabled.

I like gui. Especially a good-looking gui. But I like lynx as well. It just does not download all the pictures I don't need. So when I'm interested in content, bot in form, I use lynx. But I have also newest mozilla.

what's your take on the latest moz mara?
is it 1rc3?
i don't know why but it seems to freeze up my computer... after i remove it, everything seems ok.
and yea ok, it's freaky but i'm wondering if it's anything to do with some settings??? ie. if you change the preferences... that leads to the crash...

I am using lynx mostly for reading news, searching news groups, and downloading, it's pretty fast, and I found another browser (GUI) dillo it is as fast as lynx, the only drawback is a lack of plugins (java applets, quicktime movies etc.).

The lates one I have is rc3. And it's working very fine. If you have trouble, write to the developers.
I can change prefernces, themes etc, no problem.
It looks there will be 1.0 soon.

I never quit wondering why people prefer lynx to some other text mode browsers, like links or w3m. In my opinion lynx sucks because it doesn't understand tables, and many websites these days rely heavily on tables and they're really hard to navigate with lynx.

links and my favorite text mode browser, w3m, both handle tables.

So, why on God's green Earth would anyone want to use lynx?!
