LVM shrink and expand
 

Is it possible with Debian LVM to first shrink a partition (/home) to get space to enlarge another partition (/usr)? Is any described protocol for these combined actions?

Hello,

That's one of the big advantages of LVM in my opinion, being able to shrink/extend partitions and reassign diskspace. Have a look at this tutorial at HowtoForge.com. It has all you need described in very easy terminology.
