LVM error: File Descriptor left open

Hi

I am using RHEL4 WS. I have configured LVM + RAID5 for the "/" partition, and the "/boot" is on a normal ext3 partition. I had to hard boot my system after it hanged, now when I try to boot I get the error "File descriptor left open" and then "Kernel Panic!".

I have tried the rescue mode, but It fails to find any Linux partition, however I get a shell. When I do a "fdisk -l" I can see the partitions. Also I have tried mount /dev/VG1/LV1 / --- no go
The "fstab" file is also missing.

Thanks
