The source code tarball can be found here:
http://www.linspire.com/lindows_pro...29&pg=specs
Finding all the required dependancies can be a bit of a pain. I googled the list (in the readme file) and downloaded and installed them.
I had it working on Suse 9.1 / Fedora 2 / Mandrake 10 (trying different distros).
Now if I could only get it working with Gentoo 2.6.8 and KDE 3.3....maybe tomorrow.

Woops, link self destructs I guess. Go to Linspire, click on CNR, then click the Blue info button beside the LSong listing. Part way down the next page click Specifications then the link to the source code.

What did you do to get it working with Fedora 2? I keep running into dependency issues. Can you provide the list of packages you installed?
thanks!

Hey CanuckFlyBoy - I may be able to help you with getting LSongs to work on Gentoo. I Seem to have gotten lucky(once) and actually got all the dependencies compiled and ran it once. I am having another issue now. After compiling/installing there was an error in there ptyhon script which I just fudged around with to fix, and LSongs legitimately ran. After [X]'ing it and trying to re-run it, the python scripts now hang on loading other scripts via the import command. I was wondering if maybe you had any ideas - I can discuss more in depth if you are still interested.

I'm running Lsongs in SuSE 9.1
Look in alt.binaries.warez.linux for nfo and files
or if you have someone who has linspire and Lsongs installed ask them to copy these files for you...
/usr/lib/python2.3 (the whole directory)
/usr/bin/lsongs
/usr/bin/lphoto
/usr/bin/losaol (only If you want the AOL Dialer)
rename exisiting /usr/lib/python2.3 to /usr/lib/python2.3.bak
move copied directory python2.3 to /usr/lib
other files go in /usr/bin
no duh you have to be su
check permissions e.g. other can read
type lsongs at run command or create Icon on desktop...
Image for Icon can be found at /usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/lsongs/images
Works like a charm... Lphoto too...

now working some what
update: I installed kde 3.3.2 and now lsongs starts up and runs but i get error below. cdrecord is installed so what can I do to fix this. Lsongs runs fine I can use it as long as I dont burn anything. Nor can I click on the radio stations link or it crashes. Out side of that its working. Im thinking maybe at the time of installing lsongs i didnt have cdrecord installed. I dont have the source file anymore and Linspire has stopped letting you download it. They are now saying they have never had a source code for lsongs or lphoto. witch is flat out a lie because I have downloaded it from there site a few times. So I am still talking with them about it. any ideals as to how to fix this error?
soboku1@linux:~> lsongs
soboku1@linux:~> cdrecord: No such file or directory. Cannot open '/dev/pg*'. Cannot open SCSI driver.
cdrecord: For possible targets try 'cdrecord -scanbus'.
cdrecord: For possible transport specifiers try 'cdrecord dev=help'.
