LPRng error when job submitted

Hi,

Today I find myself ssetting up a print queue for the first time ever.
  • LPRng installed... check
  • GhostScript & fonts installed... check
  • APSFilter installed & configured... check

Printer output... none. :(

After submitting a job to the queue, lpd is recording the following error: Waiting lpd: select returned -1, error 'Interrupted system call', and the queue shows a status of job 'root@deepthought+289' error 'aborting operations'.

The printer & parallel port appear to be working properly, as verified by dumping text directly to /dev/lp0.

I haven't managed to find an explanation of this error which I can understand anywhere online, man pages, etc. Shoving me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

-d.

Never mind...

I decided to check out CUPS... had it installed, configured, and working correctly in under 30 minutes. :D
