lost download file

Hi
I downloaded a program or two from download.com using konqueror
web browser. One download (accounting program) was successfully installed
in directory: file:/home/john/.kde...n/konqueror94fpDa.gz
However. I cannot find the file in the file manager. Where did the
file go? In the home/John directory there is no .kde...n directory.
As you can tell, I am trying to learn to work with linux.
Thanks,
John Higgins

I once tried to download a file into a directory that I didn't have permission to write too and it appeared that the download was working, but when I listed the contents, nothing was there. Do you have permission to write to the directory?

It actually appears that he is not seeing an ivisible directory, at least that's how I read it.

Open up a terminal and type ls -a notice the -a to list all files including hidden ones. There should at least be that directory, whether or not something is in there is a different story...

Cool

If your using konqueror to view your files, click on view, then show hidden files, cause .kde is a hidden folder...
