Lost ability demsg

I cannot use demsg after I built the 2.6.15 kernel in my slackware 10.2 system, I moved the System map to my boot dir and thats it. I don't know really whatelse I was supposed to do after the build. The system booted just fine afterwards and its the only thing I have noticed that is missing, and yes I tried it in root.

The command is dmesg, not demsg.
