This is my first thread I am getting these error messages from past two weeks on my server after i reinstalled centos os and connected new hard disk of 200gb. Due to this error NFS mounting and accessing NFS file has become slow Error Losing too many ticks! TSC cannot be used as a timesource. Possible reasons for this are: You're running with Speedstep, You don't have DMA enabled for your hard disk (see hdparm), Incorrect TSC synchronization on an SMP system (see dmesg). i'm not good with hardware so someone else will have to explain further. but i think this is definitly causing the performance problems leading to really bad over 100 dropped ticks during bootup. |

At last I got the solution Linux was taking SATA HARD DISK as IDE HARD DISK I went to the BIOS settings there was a menu for IDE,SATA,AUTO I selected AUTO and rebooted then Linux took the SATA HARD DISK as sda and problem was solved |
