Looking for video editing software that will export back to mini DV camcorder
I usually use dvgrab to make an .avi file from the video on our mini dv camcorder and save it to my pocket drive.
Right now I edit this from the pocket drive in Windows 7 on my laptop with Sony's Vegas movie studio HD 9.0 I'm having issues with the laptop lately and with out bogging down in too many details I have to burn the edited video back to the mini DV tape and transfer speeds are causing me problems. Is there a Linux video editing software that would let me export back to the camcorder? OpenShot doesn't seem to have that option and from what I remember of PiTiVi it doesn't either. Thanks Gary |
It may be easier with some distros. What are you using?

I have not played with kino/dvgrab in awhile but Kino has a IEEE 1394 export function. Exporting only works if your firewire controller has an OHCI chip. I would assume that your controller has OHCI.

Kino seems to work fine with the older Canon zr65 so I appreciate the help. Oddly though a newer Canon zr950 would play video & audio from Kino's export function but it wouldn't actually start to record, just playback on screen.
