Looking for update information on any possible voice dictation program,plus 1 other

I would like to know how far along are the possible Voice Dictation and control programs? Take the Sphinx series, for instance. Plus, is there any programs for screening porn from your computer, so you do not get any!???

Not sure about voice dictation stuff (never used any). What sort of features are required above a regular media player?

There are a few web filtering solutions. One option is to switch your DNS to OpenDNS, setting up an account there and enabling filtering that way.

There are also local solutions like DansGuardian.

For voice dictation, if I understood your needs, you could go for:
espeak - A multi-lingual software speech synthesizer.
I've used it in the past and it's quite nice, you can do "espeak <text>" from a console and it'll say the words. There are other solutions I think though, at least as good as this.
