Looking for Open Source SAN or LUN Backup Solution

I'm currently looking for an open-source (preferably free) SAN or LUN backup solution, preferably with the ability to snapshot a lun, or do lun cloning. Has anyone run across anything which will allow us to easily backup our volumes on our SAN?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Michael

I'm not sure if this is relevant to you anymore, but you may want to consider checking out OpenFiler.

Not really sure why this topic got dug up:

1. No, not really relevant anymore.
2. Openfiler wouldn't take snapshots of the SAN, but would rather allow me to create my own SAN.
3. We use r1soft's CDP for backups nowadays.

It was "dug up" because:

1. It was never answered and since I just saw it, I hoped to be of help to you.
2. You mention the ability to do snapshots as a PREFERENCE, not as a requirement.
3. Your email doesn't state you were using CDP.

I appreciate it. However, we are no longer using that SAN. Thanks for the help though.

Michael
