I reached out to Playon support. They instructed me on how to setup Kodi. So far it works great.
With the PlayOn server running, launch Kodi and follow these instructions to add PlayOn as a source.
Click in Files under the Videos section
Click on Add Videos
Click on Browse and then UPnP Devices
Find PlayOn in the list, highlight and click OK
Click OK twice more
PlayOn should now be listed as a source under the videos section of Kodi.
