I don't buy ANY MS software. I mistakenly bought XP Pro because it came with my Dell computer. :( However, I usually don't buy ANY software. I only bought the Memorex Label Maker because I had to buy labels anyway and it came with it. It was $14.99 and with a $10 rebate at Best Buy, that was only $4.99.
I've looked into the Gimp CD labeling template and gLabels. They are as good as my Memorex CD/DVD Labeling kit. However, none of them will shape text automatically, read CD-text or CDDB info. That makes them incomplete as far as I'm concerned because any CD Labeling software should read CD-text and CDDB info (you should also be able to choose between Gracenote and freedb).
