Looking for App to allow internet access to VB software
Ok, this may be in the wrong place, but I figured this might be a good place to look.
I'm looking for a program to run on a server (might be UNIX based, not sure...I'm just looking for options right now), and it is to allow "broadcasting" of a Visual Basic based program through the internet.
It was working before with some program designed for this (again I don't know the name) and stopped working when end users started using IE 5 and up at least in Win XP.
So this is what I need:
A Unix or Linux based prorgam capable of broadcasting a program for use by Windows users, if not all platform users. The program is written in Visual Basic, and there is no modifying it anymore. Current program being used Active X controls, but now causes large number of windows to open crashing the computer...but can be stopped by closing one window...though windows desktop is lost in the process.
Current system also was availabe to Netscape users by downloading a simple app which stopped working due to missing VB files...possibly due to WinXP.
If you understand any of this and have any ideas...or can provide me with proper terminology, would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
