Looking for an alternative to Basket or Evernote

I'm looking for a note-taking application similar to Basket or Evernote.

Basket would be perfect if I used KDE, but I use GTK (Gnome, Cinnamon, XFCE) and I don't want to mess the system with KDE/Qt packages.

KeepNote would be fine as well, but it lacks pictures integration.

It seems that the only application similar is zim. Any other alternative?

I am not familiar with your OS. But I use Evernote from a web page in a Linux distribution. While not as full featured as the native app version, it does the job for me.
However I do not attach media files (such a photos).
Would A web based cloud app work for you?

Try TagSpaces

you can try tagspaces from http://tagspaces.org. It is open source and completely file based.
