Obviously, Linux has more applications (or as many apps as) Windows in a wide variety of subjects, but one of the first areas in which I noticed that Linux had more choices was sound/audio editing. If that's the case, tell me: has anyone seen a program than can modify audio to make it sound like AM radio? If such a thing exists, I'd be interested in playing with it...
yea my audacity has about 300 effects with the LADSPA plugins
same for my personal favorite and jack aware *rezound*
sweep has no builtins but also does the 270 or so LADSPA plugins
i guess the answer is LADSPA plugins
if you are going farther and running jack using jamin you can master output from ardour
which can use LADSPA plugins plus you have the adjustments in jamin
and then at the same time rerecord what comes out from jamin with ardour
