looking for a good file differencing program?

I am looking to download a FREE file differencing program. Hopefully something with a GUI. Does anyone know of one that they would recommend?
Thanks.

Not sure about a gui, but diff seems to be the standard. you can use diff3 to compare three files.

looking for something with a little more info than diff

I would like a program that shows what is the same as well as what is different. I used one once that displayed files side by side, and highlighted the differences in each line. I am not sure what the program was though.

How do I get colordiff?

The side by side feature works a lot better for me. Thanks.
My machine doesn't know colordiff. How can I make this work?

KDE has a gui frontend to the diff program. It is called kdiff.
You probably already have it. It's probably in the same menu section as kgdb. If not you can find it here:

Has anyone used xdiff or xxdiff

I have found two programs searching on-line- xdiff and xxdiff. Does anyone have experience with either of these? Would you recommend either of them?
