Looking for a Backup solution for Opensuse 10.3 PDC samba profiles

I am looking for a good piece of software or a similar solution on backing up profiles from my linux to a destination of my choosing? Can someone help me with a solution?
Should i just set up a crontab scheduled backup? I'm not too familiar and am looking for a temporary solution until i learn more about crontabs.

I'm not too sure of what you're trying to do, but have you checked out "rsync"? Here's a good article that helped us get my daughter's Mac backed up to my server. I believe it has instructions on using cron and setting up a real backup system.

I'd be suggesting some form of rsync shell script from cron.

If you want to be able to store multiple copies (ie a history in some form) you could use tar in a script, again from cron.
