logout problem


hi all,
we rebuilt the some rpms of fedora3, now we are getting logout problem presumely due to /var/run/gdm.pid and /var/run/gpm.pid, we are getting message as /var/run/gdm.pid and gdm is not running. pl let us know which rpm is handling (creating) those files. thanks in advance.

Hi,
which GDM are you running veena??and what are all rpm's u configurred?Anyway you can do one thing
Go to terminal mode and issue the below command
ps ax|grep gnome-session

then kill that PID and try yo login again

hi sri

we have used GDM-2.6.0.5.but listen since we r aware of linux and its useful commands we know how to use the above given commands.but how will the end user use the product with the problem. we r not able to logout at all. i need to solve the problem forever.and i have not changed the code of gdm(FC3) at all.so wher is the problem. plz help us
