Logitech for Notebook Deluxe and luvcview/easycam not quite right

I got my Logitech Deluxe webcam for notebooks and installed it on my Acer Aspire 3680. I'm running XUbuntu, luvcview works, sort of. I think that I'm supposed to be getting 30fps, as that's what the program says when it starts but on the window that displays the video image, i'm only getting 5fps, same thing with easycam.

Is there any way that i can get the fps above 5?????
