I'm not sure what you're asking. Are you trying to customize your login screen?
Kubuntu should be using KDM for the display manager rather than LightDM. If you are using lightdm, you can customize the login screen with the config files in /etc/lightdm/. If you want to use KDM, you should be able to easily install it with 'sudo apt-get install kdm'.
