Logging on ssh through http

Hi all,

I want to get access to my server remotely through a web browser. I'm looking for an app able to do this. Something like a web based ssh client.

So, I want the application to be accessible on my server through Apache probably, I don't want to use any third party online service for loging. Is there something like this anywhere out there?

Thank you for all the help.

I used to have that with one of my old Gentoo servers. I used RealVNC to get a remote desktop via explorer/firefox depending where I was logging on.

It was quite good but depending on the networks it can be quite slow.

Thank you for the answer. From what I can see RealVNC is a comercial remote control software. I'm looking for something dedicated to ssh and free/open source.

mindterm appears to be able to do this.

I just use putty. It takes 10 seconds top to download whenever I'm not on a Linux host and have to get serious.

Thank you Jameson for the suggestion, I can see that this is also a commercial software.

I also use putty whenever I can, the fact is that right now I need to use something that I can access through a proxy. Now, I can only use only http and https ports to access services over the internet. That's why I need this.

Woops, thought I saw that mindterm was gpl; didn't look close enough. How about this for a different style of solution? http://dag.wieers.com/howto/ssh-http-tunneling/

That sounds like a more elegant way to handle it.
I'll try it.

Thank you,
Alex
