"locale not supported by Xlib, locale set to C"
 
I am using gnome,
and I got that problem with my multimedia that when i am trying to put a song the program freeze
i tried to run the program through terminal and it gave me that warning line:

irad@irad:~$ xmms

Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by Xlib, locale set to C
libmikmod.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

when i am trying to play anysong it freeze.
i searched the web but it didn't help me at all

anyone know how to fix it?

i already tried other applications but i still got the same error.

It sounds like you need to install new locale. type "local -a" in the terminal to see what your system already has. From what I hear you want UTF-8 locale (whatever that means). If it doesn't look like you have any of those, I'd suggest googling how to install them. There's a few good resources that pop up.

The command is 'locale -a', you forgot the e :)
