Loading modules on startup

Hey, I've been having trouble with my sound in some games. But when I type "modprobe snd-pcm-oss" it works. So my question is how do I get it to do this on linux startup?

it depends on your distribution, take a look somewhere in /etc/rc.d/rc.modules or /etc/modules.autoload, or you can put it in your /etc/rc.d/rc.local and it will run it every time you reboot you computer

ok, I'm using Mandrake 10 and I have an /etc/rc.d/rc.local. I opened it in kwrite but it's in some kind of code. How would I add it?

just run this command as root
Code:

echo "modprobe snd-pcm-oss" >> /etc/rc.d/rc.local
this will add the line you need to rc.local file

nevermind got it to work by adding snd-pcm-oss to /etc/modules.preload.
