Loading .ko file

Actually iam doing a project on usbip. I need to load .ko files in the system to compile it. but iam not able to use the "modprobe" or the "insmod" commands for it. They dont load these files.

So i need to know in whic directory should i place it and and which directory should i be when i use the command.

Is there any other command for it. Please help me solve this problem.

all dot ko .ko are modules the go in the /lib/modules/uname-r/ but yours is a usb input device /lib/modules/uname-r/kernel/drivers/usb/misc
you must be root to insmod or modprobe you must run depmod -a after putting it in the modules tree. before you can modprobe it. or reboot.
