i cant seem to load gnome....i'm using Gentoo linux and gdm...
this is the .xsession-errors file that the thingy-ma-gig told me was where it kept it's logs.
sorry i cant give you more detail....
i can log into gnome etc as root fine, but normal users have problems

/etc/X11/gdm/PreSession//Default: Registering your session with wtmp and utmp
/etc/X11/gdm/PreSession//Default: running: sessreg -a -w /var/log/wtmp -u /var/run/utmp -x "/var/lib/gdm/:0.Xservers" -h "" -l :0 bond

Yea, i'm talking about when i've typed in my user/pass and selected session type, while it is actually loading gnome, it comes up with a message talking about how the session lasted <10 secconds and it points to the posted log file
