Loading Apache module question ??
Hi All

I have a simple question relating to the Apache web server.

My current installation relates to a DSO based apache 1.3.27 on Solaris.
I would like to know that before you declare a directive that relates to a DSO you need to load the module first with the LoadModule command in the httpd.conf, before you can declare a directive. SO my question is, am I correct in what I say ??

Kind Regards

Yes, you would need to have a LoadModule statement, but I don't believe that the order in which the statements appear in httpd.conf matters - so if the LoadModule statement comes after you declare the directive it shouldn't matter.

The error message below is due what happens when I declare the directive before the LoadModule statement

httpd: CONFIG IS BROKEN: '/Ehealth/web/httpd/httpd.conf'
| Syntax error on line 9 of /Ehealth/web/httpd/httpd.conf:
| Invalid command 'CustomLog', perhaps mis-spelled or defined by a module not in
cluded in the server configuration
httpd: start FAILED.

Now id I put it below the LoadModule statement then the web server starts up fine

Kind Regards
