Why do you want to reset it? If the kernel is not configured right, the program will not work - there's nothing to reset.

None of the steps outlined previously are options. You need to do them all to get all if you want lm_sensors to work.
Configuring the kernel was one of those steps, outlined in post #15

Again, do lsmod, check if you have the needed modules specified in post #30. If you don't, you'll need to configure and recompile the kernel. There are lots of tutorials and threads on the subject.

i don't want to reset everything, it's just curiousity how to do it, and does it matter if i just kept evverything the way it is now, without finishing it? then go back, so 2 months later and continue it?

i am a newbie in linux and i'm just kinda skeptical about doing a bunch of things.. that's all

You can leave everything as is, no harm done. Once you feel good about recompiling the kernel in the future, you can do the lm_sensors dance again.

Compiling the kernel isn't difficult, you just need to follow the instructions carefully. Anyway, if things go wrong, you have your original kernel to boot into again. Good luck and
