I'm looking for some open source Live Video Streaming Softwares. I looked into Darwin but aint sure whether it works for live stuff or not. If you guys know of any softwares do share.
You can use, among others, VLC to stream video over a network. If you post more details of what you want to do, you should receive more of an answer about what is possible..
I want to broadcast my video files using linux box, its like i wanna share my 100's of music vids with my friends only. Sometimes I want to broadcast my tv content to my friends, just looking for a linux based software which can do this.
As long as the material is yours, that is you own the rights or have copy-write permission, you can legally stream content. Otherwise, you may well attract the unwanted attention of the owners of the copy-rights and the law.
Those music videos are not simply yours, nor is what you receive as televised content, you just have rights to view them. You should be able legally to stream content from one part of your house to another, but not to a neighbor or friends.
So is there any software to do this? Let's say I have a set of video recordings of my boys and I would like to video streaming to my parents located in Taiwan and family members in China or friends in Central America. What is the software I can use so that I don't need to mail them the actual video recordings?
Try Stremance.com - Free Live Video Streaming Tool
