Live Image Backup?

I have used Acronis True Image Echo Server to backup a RHLE server live to an image file. The purpose of the backup is development without having to mess with the actual server. Disk cloning is not an option because I have to keep server downtime to minimum. I was wondering if there is any open source alternatives.

TY

You may configure a kickstart installation so that you will get your system customized as you wish. This would be a very generic approach.

If you prefer imaging, which is imho not the first choice in Linux, you may use http://sourceforge.net/projects/g4l
