live cd's make bootable

I download slakware live linux cd's. I burned it as an Iso file but I cannot record it on my blank cd-r. The software(nero) ask me for save the image and record it on the hard drive. I don't have the option to save it on cd.

Did you remember to "burn from image"? If you open the CD in a file manager, do you see one .iso file or do you see all the contents of the CD? If you see one .iso file, you burned the disc incorrectly...

Did you download ISOs and burn them as ISOs(or saved projects) or did you just drag the file onto a new compliation and burn it? You HAVE to burn ISOs as projects, not as files.
