LIRC - configuring an unknown IR remote without the original hardware

Hi,

I'm trying to configure LIRC to control an old radio tuner - but I don't have the original remote, and I can't find an existing conf file for this particular manufacturer.

I have LIRC working on a raspberry pi controlling most of my hi-fi (all old Technics stuff, using a standard config file for the remote) However there is one unit (it's an Acoustic Solutions SP110 DAB tuner) which I don't own a remote control for. (The correct remote is no longer available it looked like this: http://www.superfi.co.uk/images/prod...0005253_1_.jpg)

I'm looking for a code searching script to use with LIRC to exhaustively search for the correct IR codes to control this tuner. Has anyone done this before and got any advice for using LIRC in this way?

Luke

There are no standards for IR codes. Without knowing anything about the frequency, start/stop bits or data bits etc it is going to be extremely difficult to guess.

I did not find anything at http://www.remotecentral.com/index.html. I would guess either Phillips RC-5 and RC-6 Protocol but could not tell you the actually commands. You could add all the codes in the lirc conf file and create a script to loop through them using the irsend command.
