Lirc.conf Creative RM-1500

Apologies if this has already been covered. I have a creative RM-1500 remote (comes with Audigy 2 platinum) I recently decided to get workng in lirc. I have a homebrew serial port IR receiver I have working away happily. Ok so to the problem... I generated a conf file for it with irrecord and the remote works but every button press registers as two. I guess something isn't quite right in the conf file but I don't know what and I do't know what to do about it. I was hoping someone with a little more knowledge of the way the conf file handles repeat button presses might be able to help. Oh and just in case you ask I have tried the conf file on the lirc website but the same happens.
Any help would be appreciated!
Fraser
