LinuxQuestions.org - Linux Web Browsers...??

I've been a long time opera user, but now I'm trying to find an open source equivlent. Unfortunately, I'm not having alot of luck.

I like fast web browsers which don't use too many resources while still looking decent. It's also nice when common things such as css, javascript, frames, etc are supported.

I've tried Konqueror 3.1.0, Mozilla 1.3, Galeon 1.3.3, Dillo 0.7.1, Links 2.1pre8, Firebird 0.6 (milestone release).

(browser caches, cookies, location bar (except Galeon's), etc were cleared. Home page was google. Resources reported by ps -aux)

I was most surprised at Galeon and Firebird. The resources they were using were much higher than I would have expected for "slimmed" down versions of Mozilla.

Links and dillo clearly win in terms of resources and load time as well as initial rendering speed (first visit to a page). On subsequent visits, opera appears to win. Perhaps it utilizes cache better than any other browser (or at least it seems that way) as repeat visits are instantaneous.

However, links and dillo are still lacking in some major areas at this time :-(
Galeon and Mozilla do seem to render the best for me, though. Opera (QT static rpm version) and Firebird (binary version) don't seem to have been compiled with anti-aliasing font support -- guess I need to try compiling them myself?

Any other browsers I should try?
