Linux Version of Symantec for a DOD system webserver - personal project for work
Alright all I am fairly new to Linux at this point and all I can really say that I am truly proficent doing is breaking my Linux boxes. Anyways I am in the Army and currently in an Army course and got to talking to the IT guys here in the building, they have been hearing alot of good things about using a Linux box to run the webserver and a fileserver/cd-share. Here's the problem, the Military Base requires that all computers on the network be running atleast a rtvscan and be uptodate with virus defenitions in place, although I am not really sure why that would be needed on a Linux box, I am using Fedora Core 3 right now. I need to get it running the live update b/c eveything else is good to go. Anyone got help for me on using the Java Liveupdate for this? The Symantec App is loaded and running, however the Java sript is pointed at the wrong update server (this is Symantec Client Version) but I don't know what file is giving the direction and looking over what I could find it's giving only "might be " locations for the file repository for Symantec virus defs.
