linux upgrade/update software

Hello,

We have many linux servers with many more to be installed in the near future. All of the servers are identical and I have a need to keep all of them updated with the current versions of software. We were originally considering Red Hat's Network but many of the packages are compiled by us and not support by Red Hat directly.

Does anyone know of any software that will do this for me?

Thanks!

If you compile everything into RPM format, you can use apt for rpm. Check out freshrpm's for complete details. But in essence, you build an apt repository, then run apt in a cron on each machine (every Friday, say, or twice a month; whatever suits you) which queries the repositoy for updates.

Cheers--
