This file is for installing Ubuntu as an operating system. If you burn it to a CD or DVD, you can use it to boot your system. It becomes a 'live CD' meaning you do not need to install it first.

This is confusing. You are asking more than one question here.

First of all, Backtrack is another distro of linux, another operating system. For the most part you should not try to run an application for one distro on another distro. Depending on package managers, it either won't install, or won't work correctly. I won't go into the details, that is the bottom line.

What I would suggest you do, is tell us what you are trying to accomplish. Then we can give you some guidance.

I am trying to get linux up and running so I can use the hcitool to pair my phone and I am also into trying to crack the wep password of networks for my computer so I can have internet service. So if you can tell me what I do next after installing ubuntu, when I bring it up on the desktop it only gives me that Roxio creator dialog box with some options.

Apparently you have found a handful tools you need for your task and they happen to run under Ubuntu. So you want to install Ubuntu and run the tools you have found and eventually crack some WEP passwords.

The latter is not gonna happen, such questions are ruled out as per LQ rules.
