linux to windows (i'm not a newb)

hi, im migrating my box to windows from slackware... ive got 5 drives all of which ive attempted to painstakingly convert to FAT except for one which i erased and used cfdisk to NTFS. by convert i mean copy from XFS to an intermediate drive, convert the drive to FAT and copy them back.

i then tried the windows XP install cd and it loads the very first blue screen with drivers, etc and then says 'starting windows...' the screen goes black forever. the cdrom stops accessing.

ive also tried making the hard drive ext2 or just blank. it is the primary master. i left all of the other hard drives connected up and the cdrom is the secondary master. other drives are on the onboard raid controller. any ideas how to get this sucker going? i'm stumped.

ive tried to RTFM and google but most people say just wipe the drive (which I've done in linux) and then hook it up and proceed. i can't get past that damn black screen though.

thanks, marshall

The Windows install seems to have problems with partition tables with a lot of partition tables on them. If you haven't already, try removing all but on partition on each drive.
