Question linux RPM


I am trying too open a rpm and it keeps on saying No GPG signature in package.

Can anyone tell me what this means. Thanks

This means that the package was not downloaded from a server of you're distribution. This package can be for a different distribution or it can be the good package but it's just not known by your distribution.
To be shure you got the good package you can use rpm.pbone.net
go to the advanced search and check the distribution your using. If you find it here it will a good package but it could still be that it gives that warning.
