Hey all i was lwondering if anyone knew where i could find the files to convert my windows games to linux i cant find the .runs and whatever else i need to convert...im looking for the neverwinter nights warcraft 3 and disciples 2 files if anyone knows where any of these are i would be indebted to you..thanx in advance.......Cg
I didn't know there were ports of those games to linux?
You can't just "convert" a program into linux, those games probably use directx, there is no implementation of directx out side of windows/xbox
thanx piper the faq site is cool...and yes captain google is fabulous it is in fact my start page however i have had no luck i was looking for the installers cause i have the windows versions but currently cant afford the money for winex3 i know there is an installer for disciples 2 and was hopin someone had it and also hoping there was a port of warcraft 3 well thanx for the help i have to keep up the search for d2 and wait till i get the bread for warcraft 3.....Cg
Well I can relate to lack of funds...I've been waiting for some to get WineX 3.0.
HOWEVER, that being said, you can always use the CVS version for free...but it means you'll have to tinker a bit, but I know Warcraft 3 works with it.
As for NWN, check out the NWN site, I'm sure there's a link to the installer there, all you need is the CDs, the installer downloads for free.
If you search on google, you can find the Q3 installer, RTCW installer(copy you pak files from the disc over after you install), UT2k3 has the installer on disc 3, Army Ops is available for download, UT has an installer at www.lokigames.com, Enemy Territory is also available for download. 3dgamers tends to have most of these files. For RTCW, find the linux binaries, the file should be rather large, 70 meg or better, if I remember right. In all cases, you need the windows disc for these.
