Red face Linux -POP3-issue

Hello everyone,

I have installed Redhat Linux(6.2) in a registerd domain Linux server. I have now successfully installed imap -
imap-2000c-10.i386.rpm (SMTP is configured). After installation i opend my xinetd.conf and found the below content.

# # Simple configuration file for xinetd # # Some defaults, and include /etc/xinetd.d/ defaults { instances = 60 log_type = SYSLOG authpriv log_on_success = HOST PID log_on_failure = HOST RECORD } includedir /etc/xinetd.d

I am not able to find pop3 or Telnet

Can u please tell me a solution to install the POP3.In a general case we normally just uncomment the POP3 in the inetd.conf, but here i havent found anything. Can u plz help me to find a solution

read the pop3 server's documentation. They have to contain instructions on how to add the appropriate lines to xinetd's configuration file.

Or, just don't use xinetd. You can always run the pop3 server in stand-alone mode, provided the server you selected has that support.
