Linux Network Gateway

Does anyone know if you switch networks WHERE YOU HAVE YOUR SERVERS HOSTED ON A NON-DHCP NETWORK, and you switch your IP addresses, then do you have to switch change/assign your new gateway address? I'm not sure if its manually assigned? How do you do it?

Also what about nameserver resolving?

This doesn't really make sence, you are in a non-DHCP network, so you need a static configuration then if their is no DHCP? What distribution are you using since they all have different ways of handling networking information. I still do not quite understand what you are after either.

That's a good question for your hosting provider. The short answer is if you've moved to a new subnet/VLAN, then you will need to specify the new, correct default router.

As for how you change your default router, different distros have different methods for making the change permanent. So... what distro/version is this?
