linux mysql c++

Hi,

I have to use Mysql and C++ on Linux.
Can you suggest which distribution I should go for that will support mysql ?
Is Red Hat Linux 9 the right one?(somebody suggested that)..
I already have Win2000 on my system.
Can I install Linux (by keeping Windows) on some other drive?
Pls. let me know any information in this regard..

yes you can run both os's at once.
