but every pages I go into ,just find document content about introduction , no information useful about traffic at all

in my /etc/mrtg.cfg , I found all content was commented out, such as:

### Interface 3 >> Descr: 'eth1' | Name: '' | Ip: '' | Eth: '00-02-55-21-28-64' ###
### The following interface is commented out because:
### * --ifref=ip is not unique for this interface

it says: ip is not unique for this interface
but it is factly unique in my network. and i run "ifconfig" it is unique too.

Sorry to disappoint you - just wanted to ask
you to pick a topic that's slightly more related
to the technical aspects of the problem next time.

Just for the heck of it, have you tried putting http://192.168.9.47/mrtg/index.html into a web browser and seeing what you'd get. Perhaps it's just not bringing up the index.html properly? That's just a stab in the dark answer though. Keep us posted!

yes, when I browser " http://192.168.9.47/mrtg/index.html", it shows a html with content of introduction or explanation , not mtrg traffic . all pages I go into are like this. I don't know whether it is because of my mrtg.cfg, because all network interfaces are commented out there, the content is auto produced by command while set up.

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.

timtim -- please do not create new threads that just point of one of your previous threads. It is considered double posting, which is contrary to the LQ Rules. This post has been reported for closure. -- J.W.

well to begin with you have no config file. If everything is commented out...that basically equals a blank config. I spent 2 seconds at the mrtg site and saw docs on configuring the program. you need to slow down and read the docs. Also, you are the 5 millionth user asking a question without the " Distribution:" field filled in on you your profile. This is imparitive. many distros put files in different places. We can't even begin to help you with out that information.
