When Linux Mint (Cinnamon) boots to the login screen, a background is loaded, and if I recall correctly, back in the days of Linux Mint 17.x, the default background screen contained a graphic identifying the version of Linux Mint that was installed; for example, "17.1". I really liked that background; however, I can't find one in the collection that's included with Linux Mint 20.2 (Cinnamon).
Does such a screen exist, and if so, where can I find it?
If this is important to you and nobody answers, just boot linux mint 17 live or in a VM, and copy what you want from there. It's still available on linux mint website, and even if it wasnt, there's usually torrents for old linux isos.

Perhaps I was unclear, enigma9o7. I'm not a Linux guru, like many others here (yourself, included). In this case, for me, the juice just ain't worth the squeeze.
Ah ok. Well if you do change your mind, unless someone else installed your OS in the first place, what I'm describing is trivial because you've done it before. Download the iso, takes a click. Write it to USB, takes a command. Plug in the usb and reboot to it, select "try mint now" or "live" or whatever from the grub menu that comes up. You'll then be in linux mint 17. Then just copy what you want to your hard drive. Then reset your computer (unplug usb).
Easiest option is most likely to just put "linux mint 17.1 background" into an image search engine, and find it from the results.
Another easier-than-creating-a-live-boot option would be locating the relevant source repository online, switching to 17.1 branch/tag, and downloading the image from there. (Asking a Mint developer may help with that first step, since there appears to be multiple and its not immediately obvious which one is relevant.)

Repeating juice aint worth the squeeze" just makes you look like an ass. Did you want someone to hand you file on silver platter or something? You have been told multiple ways to find it but seem unwilling to try anything at all, you dont' even want help.

In that case you should look in the mirror. None of the responses to your question have even hinted at arrogance, and not being willing to even try simple suggestions leaves no doubt about who is being arrogant and self limiting.

You have not "heard" anything that I have said. Go back and read my posts, again, and your subsequent responses. It's very obvious that there's a reading comprehension issue here.
