linux (mandrake) log messages
 

Linux (Mandrake) newbie question.

My 1 year old Mandrake server hangs when I boot (even in single user mode).

what logs should I look at in /var to find out what is causing the problem?

only error I really see is
Sep 29 09:38:39 localhost kernel: Symbol table has incorrect version number.

Anyone know what this means???

gb You could look at /var/log directory to find out the log you're looking for. It should be something like boot.msg or boot.log. However I use so something could be a little different.
