Linux Kernel Source

I was wondering if anyone could point me to a walkthrough explaining how to put the kernel source in it's place to allow for program compiling. It's been causing me problems. I'm not exactly sure what i need to do (newbieeee) and haven't found anything that will walk me through it. For the record, im using mandriva 2006 .

A quick search of LQ turned up this thread among about 600 others. It gives you pretty clear and straight forward instructions.

On Mandriva, start the Mandriva Control Center -> Install Software and search for kernel-source, then install that. You can also do "urpmi kernel-source" as root from the command line.
